I’ve always been a sucker for a good adventure, which is why off-roading is an activity that I never knew that I needed.  A true country girl to my core, I’ve always been privy to riding ATVs and dirt bikes back home with my cousins, but learning what it means to go off-road in a vehicle was a totally different experience, and not only did it transport me back to my childhood, which was filled with everything from mud-bogging to truck pulls, and even riding tractors with my dad, but it helped me to reawaken my inner child, helping me to reacquaint myself with my love for the outdoors. Feb 5, 2026 The Turner Brothers have officially taken their talents from the Midwest to Park City, Utah. In their Sundance debut, Julien and Justen Turner showcase the highs and lows of chasing dreams with FreeLance, an indie TV pilot following a young filmmaker in the Midwest as he navigates the creative industry alongside his tight-knit group. The project premiered in the Episodic Fiction Pilot Showcase at the 2026 Sundance Film Festivaland is produced by their company, Dreadhead Films. It stars Spence Moore II, KevOnStage, Lou Young III, Lou Ratchett, Bernard “B Nard” Clark, Renè Vaca and Elijah Cooper, with an appearance by Mel Mitchell. “It means so much to me that they thought of me for this character,” Mitchell, who plays friendly (and nosy) neighbor Kim, told Blavity’s Shadow and Act. “The story is so beautiful, and you know, just talking about the hustle and bustle and trying to make it — because everybody in this project is hungry. We’re all working to reach our goals and dreams, and I relate to that as I continue to step further into acting. I really, really do, so I’m very excited to be a part of this project. I can’t wait to see where it goes.”

Feb 29, 2026 From being in the same room as Ryan Coogler, and at the same table as Ava DuVernay and Nia DaCosta, to exploring the Park City, Utah streets in the 2026 Acura ADX, and bobsledding like Team USA... My very first Sundance was made possible by Acura, and it honestly was one for the books (I’m still processing, if we’re being honest). It’s amazing how, when you set an intention that is in alignment with God’s plan for your life, things begin to take off. At the end of 2025, I casually journaled about wanting to take my interest in documentary filmmaking more seriously. That same week, my good friends at Acura invited me to join them at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. Fast-forward to January 2026, and it was quite the experience. From sitting at the table with legends like Nia DaCosta and Ava DuVernay during the Celebrating Sundance Institute: A Tribute To Robert Redford gala to bobsledding at the same facility that trains Team USA, my first time in Utah was one for the books. Here are my takeaways from the experience. Storytelling can be life-altering.
